Fittingly, Hawks host Bruins on Teddy Bear Toss night

The Estevan Bruins will be the opponent for Friday’s Teddy Bear toss night  at the ‘Cage.’

The Hawks have won two straight while providing plenty of offence scoring a dozen goals in wins over Yorkton and Weyburn.

Nipawin won the first meeting of the SJHL season between the two, 2-1 in a shootout when Evan Forrest buried his former club with the deciding goal.

The Hawks sit in fifth place, Estevan is ninth with just five points separating the two and three teams bridged between them.

Faceoff on Friday and Saturday is 7 p.m.

Hear from Head Coach Tad Kozun ahead of the weekend.

Friday’s game is Teddy Bear Toss night and the Hawks’ annual Salvation Army food drive campaign.

Fans asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated and when Nipawin scores their first goal, the fans are asked to throw bagged stuffed animals onto the ice.
