Bruins upend Teddy Bear Toss night

Braeden Jockims made the Teddy Bears fly, but in the end the Estevan Bruins were stuffing a victory into the win column.

Jockims scored his sixth goal of the year giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead Friday at the ‘Cage,’ but Estevan tied the game, Finley Radloff put Nipawin up a goal again with his 11th of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season before the first concluded, but again Estevan bounced back knotting the score at 2-2.

The Bruins took the lead on a shorthanded goal in the second period and deposited some insurance into the empty net with Damon Cunningham on the bench for an extra attacker late.

Cunningham was great again making 38 stops in the loss.

The teams meet again Saturday at the Centennial Arena.

Captain Maguire Ratzlaff spoke after the loss Friday.
