Jockims joins Hawks; most recently with WHL’s Winterhawks

The Nipawin Hawks have added 2005-born forward Braeden Jockims from the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks.

The Saskatoon, Sask. product was drafted by Nipawin in the second round of the 2020 Bantam Draft, 17th overall from the Saskatoon Riverkings. The six-foot, 180 pound, left-winger played a pair of games with the Hawks in the 2021-22 season without registering a point.

Halfway through the 2022-23 U18 AAA season he signed with Portland and joined the Winterhawks for 23 games scoring a goal and adding an assist. This year the 18-year-old had one assist in eight games.

The Hawks wish to welcome Braeden to the organization.

Nipawin travels to Warman for the SJHL Showcase on Wednesday and takes on Notre Dame at 1:30 p.m.
