Hawks go out with a bang Friday night

The Nipawin Hawks will not be in the postseason, but the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) club went out with a bang on Friday at home versus La Ronge.

Braeden Jockims opened the scoring the first period at the ‘Cage,’ added his 15th of the season in the second, Dallyn Peekeekoot, Henry Smith, Finley Radloff, and fittingly Captain Maguire Ratzlaff also hit the scoresheet in the blowout.

Damon Cunningham made 30 stops in the final game of the season to earn his first shutout of the season as well.

The win capped a great final week that also included a 5-2 win over the Melville Millionaires.

Ratzlaff spoke following his final game in a Nipawin jersey.
