Forrest to join CUW; Hawks meet Mustangs to close first half

The Nipawin Hawks are happy to announce 20-year-old forward Evan Forrest has committed to play for Concordia University Wisconsin next year and join former Hawk Alex Ochitwa on the Falcons in Mequon, Wis.

Forrest, from Spruce Grove, Alta. has 12 goals and 16 assists this year with Nipawin, he’s tied for the team lead in goals with Braxton Buckberger and second in points.

He plans to study business and stay in sports management while focusing on kinesiology and other body care avenues.

On the ice the Hawks have a pair of massive matchups with Melfort before the break beginning Friday at the Northern Lights Palace. Faceoff is 7:30 p.m. from Melfort, catch the game on 750 Beach Radio starting at 7:15 p.m.
