Hawks tame Ice Wolves at the ‘Cage’

The Hawks have evened their season series with the La Ronge Ice Wolves after a 5-2 Nipawin win Tuesday at the Centennial Arena.

Paced by the offense of Evan Forrest and Maguire Ratzlaff who each scored twice, the Hawks improved their record to 5-3-0-1. Forrest leads the team with six goals, Ratzlaff has three. Chase Visser opened the scoring with his second of the campaign.

Tyson Endall stopped 43 La Ronge shots in the win.

The Hawks were 2/5 on the power-play, they also killed all six penalties they took including a seven minute penalty in period two.

Next up for Nipawin is a southern road trip through Weyburn, Estevan, and Notre Dame on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday’s game will be broadcasted on 750 Beach Radio beginning at 6:45 p.m., Saturday’s game is on CJVR beginning at the same time. Sunday’s matinee game in Notre Dame will be on Beach Radio starting at 4:15 p.m.
