Hawks lose in Melville

The Hawks were doubled 4-2 in Melville Sunday evening.

Rookie defenceman Landon Pappas and Captain Maguire Ratzlaff scored Nipawin’s goals. Pappas has five goals this season, Ratzlaff is up to 10.

Special teams cost the Hawks for the second straight road contest of the 2024 calendar year. Nipawin allowed a pair of power-play goals and a shorthanded marker while up two players. The second period tally was the turning point in the game that saw Nipawin fire 45 shots on goal while allowing 21.

Damon Cunningham suffered the loss in goal.

Nipawin is in Flin Flon Wednesday in are scheduled game from Jan. 12. Faceoff is 7:30 p.m. from the Whitney Forum.
