Hawks eliminated from playoff contention; Bombers visit Sunday

The Nipawin Hawks will not be going to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) playoffs this season.

Friday in Melfort the Hawks suffered a 7-2 setback officially eliminating the team from the playoff chase with three games left.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period at the Northern Lights Palace, Nipawin manage to cut the lead to 4-2 early in the third thanks to Braeden Jockims 12th goal of the campaign and Evan Forrest’s 16 goal of the year, but couldn’t get any closer and saw their postseason hopes dashed for the second time in three seasons.

Hear from Head Coach Tad Kozun on the postgame show.
