Bridge City boys lead Hawks over Kindersley

The Hawks started 2024 with an impressive 7-3 rout of Kindersley on Wednesday as the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) team was back in action for the first time since Dec. 16.

Alex Bernauer led the charge scoring his first career SJHL hat-trick along with a pair of assists. Mason Karakochuk buried his first career SJHL goal in the win, Braxton Buckberger, Braedem Jockims, and Maguire Ratzlaff also bulged the twine for the Hawks in their 15th victory o fthe year.

Damon Cunningham made 34 stops in the triumph.

Next up for the Hawks is a showdown with the Bombers in Flin Flon on Friday. Nipawin is 0-2 against the Bombers this season, both the Hawks’ 5-3 and 3-2 losses to the Bombers were in Nipawin.

Faceoff is 7:30 p.m., the pregame show on Beach Radio starts at 7:15 p.m.
