Gage Roberts’ performance in Humboldt Saturday against the Broncos has earned the 18-year-old the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Rookie of the Week.
The Fort McMurray. Alta. product stopped 36 shots on route to his first junior ‘A’ victory and shutout in the Hawks 1-0 victory.
Overall this year Roberts has a goals-against-average of 3.77 and a save percentage of .885.
He is the first Hawk to be among the weekly award winners this season.
Nipawin is home to North Battleford on Tuesday.
