Hawks too much for Hounds in Sunday matinee

The Hawks put together a solid 60 minutes Sunday, cruising to a 6-1 win over Notre Dame at the ‘Cage.’

Alex Bernauer opened the scoring in his Nipawin debut, Chase Visser scored the game winner in the first period, and the offence put the game away with three more in the second.

Joel Mabin picked up his fourth, Artem Hrabovetskyi tallied his first Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) goal in fantastic fashion, and Braxton Buckberger notched his sixth of the year.

Finley Radloff capped the scoring in the third period with his second of the year.

The Hawks scored three power-play goals and killed all seven minor penalties they took.

Damon Cunningham made 24 saves in the win, Nipawin fired 38 shots on Jesse Pye.
