A late third period goal by Eric Hoiness forced overtime for the Hawks Sunday before Nipawin fell 4-3 to the North Stars.
Capping the weekend home and home series and overall season series with an afternoon start time almost 700 showed up for the first home game of 2025.
Battleford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period before the Hawks brought the crowd to life in the second with goals by Carter Anderson and Will Whitter. Anderson has a team leading 14 goals this season, Whitter has nine in his rookie campaign.
Hoiness added his sixth of the year.
Gage Roberts earned the overtime loss with a solid 28 save performance and rebounded nicely after the North Stars scored twice early.
Nipawin will make their final trip of the season to Flin Flon on Wednesday. The game will be on Beach Radio beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show.
