The Hawks got a powerplay goal in the second from Eric Hoiness on the road in North Battleford and the lead but couldn’t hold on falling 4-2 to the Battlefords on Saturday.
The second year Nipawin centreman has five goals on the season now and three with the man advantage. Carter Anderson added his team leading 13th of the SJHL season late giving Nipawin a chance down one late but an empty net tally from the North Stars capped the comeback attempt.
Nathan Claydon was good in goal for the Hawks making 42 saves.
Nipawin will host the North Stars for a matinee affair Sunday at 3 p.m.
