Hawks clear another hurdle in Humboldt

For the first time since Nov. 30, 2019 the Hawks have a win in Humboldt thanks to a 3-2 overtime triumph Saturday versus the Broncos.

A week after finally finding a way to win in North Battleford, Nipawin is able to pick up two points at the Elgar Petersen Arena after 17-year-old Ohio State commit Ronan Buckberger scored his fourth goal in overtime securing the win.

Hudson Cameron added his fourth of the season, a shorthanded goal, Nipawin’s SJHL leading fifth of the season. Braxton Buckberger slapped home his fourth of the year as well in the second period.

The Hawks were 2/5 on the man advantage, Humboldt finished 1/5.

Damon Cunningham was brilliant again making 38 stops in the win.

Ronan spoke about the win after the game.
