Hawks Close Preseason with Strong Finish

The Nipawin Hawks capped off their preseason with a 4–1 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves, finishing exhibition play with a 3–1 record.

Mason Karakochuk opened the scoring early and later added an assist, while Ismail Parsa found the back of the net on the power play for his first of the preseason. Konnor Watson struck early in the second period with help from Karakochuk and assistant captain Eric Hoiness, before Hoiness sealed the win in the third with a goal of his own.

The Ice Wolves’ lone tally came on a first-period power play from Alexander Raskin.

Captain Finley Radloff reflected on the team’s performance, saying, “The boys are taking off how we left off last season. We still have some things to work out going into our next week of practice and will be ready to go on the 19th against Melfort to open the season.”

The Hawks now turn their attention to September 19 when the Melfort Mustangs host the Nipawin Hawks.

The Hawks home opener is on September 26 at The Cage vs the Flin Flon Bombers, puck drop 7:00 PM.
