Hawks Announce 2025-26 Leadership Team; Eyes Set on Big Season Ahead

NIPAWIN, SK — The Nipawin Hawks are proud to announce the leadership lineup for the 2025-26 season. Hometown star #11 Finley Radloff returns as Captain for his second year, while #7 Eric Hoiness (2nd year) and #13 Carter Anderson (2nd year) continue their roles as Assistant Captains. Joining them this season is newly appointed #16 Mason Karakochuk, stepping in as Assistant Captain to round out a strong core.

Each of these players not only brings leadership, but they’re coming off strong campaigns last season:

  • Eric Hoiness played all 56 games, earning multiple team awards:
    • 3rd Star (Kevin’s Custom Ag)
    • Top Scorer (Prosperity Credit Union)
    • Most Valuable Player (Lockwood & Wallington Financial)
    • Iron Man Award (Tina and Greg Haluke)

  • Finley Radloff won 2nd Star (RONA Nipawin) last season

  • Carter Anderson was recognized as Top Forward (Harold’s Sports)

  • Mason Karakochuk captured Fan Favourite (Ladouceur Painting)

On the stats front, here’s how they each fared in 2024-25:

Player GP Goals Assists Points Points per Game

Carter Anderson 55 23 14 37 0.67
Mason Karakochuk 49 21 19 40 0.82

Those numbers reflect consistency, grit, and an ability to contribute every time they hit the ice.

Looking Ahead

The Hawks’ preseason has shown real promise: a 3-win, 1-loss record in exhibition games is fueling optimism that this could be a standout year. Off-season efforts have also been focused behind the scenes: upgrading the dressing rooms and facility improvements are in place so the team has everything it needs to perform.
