The Nipawin Hawks Farming Venture had another busy month in August, with strong support from local businesses and members of the agricultural community helping move the project forward.
On August 6, Mike Peifer with Ravine Bank Farms donated the use of their swather, along with his time, to swath 55 acres of brome grass.
On August 11, Accumark Airspray returned to the field to spray the canola crop for bertha armyworms. The application used Coragen insecticide, generously donated by FMC.
The month wrapped up with harvest work on August 21, when Ravine Bank Farms harvested the brome grass using a combine generously donated by Staffen Farms.
The Farming Venture continues to be made possible through the incredible support of local producers, agricultural businesses, and community partners who donate their time, equipment, products, and expertise.
