The Nipawin Hawks are proud to announce that forward #10 Will Whitter has been selected to represent the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League at the 2025 Western All-Star Challenge, taking place November 3–5 at the Martensville Recreation Centre in Martensville, SK.
Taking place in Martensville, SK, from November 3–5 at Martensville Recreation Centre, this elite showcase event between the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) will serve as the second annual tryout event for Team Canada West ahead of the 2025 Junior A World Challenge in Trois-Rivières, QC, December 7–13.
Earning His Spot
Coming off a strong 2024-25 season where he notched 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points in 52 games, Whitter has carried that momentum straight into this year. Through the early part of the 2025-26 campaign, the Prince Albert native has already posted 6 goals and 6 assists in 12 games, proving he’s one of the league’s most consistent two-way forwards.
Known for his quick release, strong vision, and ability to drive play in the offensive zone, Whitter has become a go-to option for the Hawks both at even strength and on the power play. His mix of work ethic and skill has been a key spark in Nipawin’s offensive depth this season.
Coach’s Praise
Head Coach Tad Kozun expressed his excitement about the selection:
“We are excited for Will to be chosen for the Showcase next week. He has had a great start to the season, and earned the opportunity to be there.”
A Proud Moment for the Hawks
Whitter’s selection marks another milestone for the Hawks’ player development system, reinforcing Nipawin’s reputation for cultivating young, high-character talent ready to take the next step.
As the team prepares for its next stretch of SJHL action, Hawks fans will have one more reason to cheer, knowing one of their own will be flying high on the All-Star stage in Martensville.
Congratulations, Will!
