Hawks’ forward Will Whitter has been named to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) All-Star Showcase roster that was announced on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Prince Albert product has five goals and two assists in 14 games so far in his SJHL career. Head Coach Tad Kozun said it’s great to see the club’s youngest player get recognized for his strong start to his career.
“Will has been a pleasure to coach and we could not be happier he was named to the roster,” Kozun said. “Will has a scoring touch as shown by his five goals, but he is also great with the puck, along the walls, and in the hard areas. He does what you need to score goals. We are excited to see Will play in Warman and in a Hawks uniform for the next few years, this is just the start for him.”
The SJHL versus Manitoba Junior Hockey League event is new this year, replacing the league wide showcase that was hosted in years past.
The teams will practice Monday and Tuesday, followed by the first game Tuesday evening and the second game going at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The games will be broadcasted on FloHockey.
