Watson Hat Trick Leads Hawks Past Wolverines

The Nipawin Hawks came out flying in their first matchup of the season against the Warman Wolverines, powering their way to a 6–1 victory built on sharp special teams, steady defense, and a stellar night from goaltender #1 Gage Roberts.

First Period

The Hawks wasted no time getting on the board. On a power play, #34 Konner Watson buried his fifth of the season with help from #26 Mason Karakochuk and #28 Sean Shiels. The Hawks’ puck movement and precision on the man advantage set the tone early.

Second Period

Momentum stayed firm with Nipawin as #13 Carter Anderson notched his first of the year, finishing a crisp passing play from #18 Jack Janzen and #10 Will Whitter.
Watson continued to dominate, striking twice more on the power play to complete his hat trick. His second came off setups from #28 Sean Shiels and #2 Noah Heinrich, and his third from Shiels’ third assist of the night and Karakochuk’s seventh point of the season.

Third Period

The Hawks sealed the deal in the final frame. Whitter converted on a penalty shot for his fifth goal of the year, and #21 Ashton Tait capped things off with his second, assisted by #12 Jaxen Smyth and #6 Brady Seabrook.
Warman’s lone goal came on a power play from #7 Cam Sarna, assisted by #22 Karson Kerbes and #16 Michael Tate.

Between the Pipes

Gage Roberts was locked in, stopping 42 of 43 shots in a standout performance that anchored the Hawks’ win. Nipawin fired 31 shots of their own—making every chance count.
