Ashton Tait and Conor Ryan have earned themselves mentions in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League weekly honours.
Tait was named the Saskatchewan Player of the Week thanks to a six assist and one goal week in three games. The 18-year-old produced four assists in the Hawks’ 6-5 loss on Tuesday, he added a goal (Nipawin’s second shorthanded goal of the season) and two more assists in a 7-4 win over La Ronge.
He now has 14 points in 23 games this year.
Ryan was named the Defenseman of the Week on Monday by the league.
The St. John’s, Nfld. product scored against the Terriers at home then added a pair of goals (first career SJHL two goal game) and an assist up in La Ronge.
The 19-year-old has four goals and nine assists in 20 games in Nipawin since coming over from the Flin Flon Bombers.
Nipawin is in Flin Flon Tuesday.
