The Nipawin Hawks are pleased to announce that defenseman Barret Berger has signed a Letter of Intent with the team.
Berger, an 08-born defenseman from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has affiliated with the Hawks four times over the past three seasons. During that time he has been developing with the Prince Albert Mintos U18 AAA, where he served as team captain this season.
In 44 games with the Mintos this year, Berger recorded 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points from the blue line.
Hawks Head Coach and General Manager Tad Kozun is excited to see Berger take the next step with the organization.
“We are excited to have Barret on board for next season. He is playing AAA in Prince Albert as their captain and has played in every situation. We have seen tremendous growth in his game in every aspect. Barret was a player we drafted in the first round, and we are thrilled to have him wearing a Hawks jersey next season. Welcome Barret and his family to the Hawks organization.”
The Hawks look forward to seeing Berger continue his development and join the team for the upcoming season.
