Nipawin secures 4–3 victory with goals from Whitter, Watson, Janzen, and Hoiness
The Nipawin Hawks defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 4–3 in a shootout on Tuesday night at the Cage.
The Hawks opened scoring in the first period on the power play when Will Whitter scored his third of the season, assisted by Ashton Tait and Raydr Wallington.
In the third period, Nipawin added two more: Konnor Watson’s fourth of the season (assisted by Mason Karakochuk and Eric Hoiness) and Jack Janzen’s first of the season (assisted by Whitter and Clayton Nesbitt).
La Ronge replied with three goals — one from Hoemsen and two from Cook — to force overtime. After a scoreless extra frame, the game was decided in a shootout.
The Ice Wolves saw Cook score, while Normand, Merchant, and Perozni were stopped. For Nipawin, Whitter was denied, Ashton Tait scored, Carter Anderson was stopped, and Eric Hoiness scored his first of the season to seal the win.
