Hawks’ Tait Honoured for Community Leadership at Home Game

Last night at the Cage, an important partner of the SJHL sponsored the Nipawin Hawks game and took time to recognize one of the team’s leaders for his outstanding work in the community.

Forward #21 Ashton Tait was honoured as the Nipawin Hawks’ RBC SJHL Community Ambassador for his continued commitment to making a difference off the ice. The recognition highlights players across the league who demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, and a strong connection to their communities.

Tait’s dedication extends far beyond game day. Each week, he volunteers at Central Park School, bringing positive energy into the classroom and supporting students and staff. He has also been active throughout the community, taking part in events such as decorating cookies at Tim Hortons, helping at Handiworks, mentoring young players on the ice, and reading to children at the Nipawin Library.

His passion for connecting with people and giving back has made a lasting impression throughout Nipawin. Known for his enthusiasm and positivity, Tait consistently steps forward whenever there is an opportunity to support local initiatives and engage with fans.

In recognition of his efforts, RBC presented a $1,000 donation on Tait’s behalf to Central Park School. Jackson Allan from the RBC Nipawin branch joined the Hawks on the ice for the presentation and participated in the ceremonial puck drop to mark the occasion.

The Hawks organization is proud to see Tait recognized for his leadership and community spirit, reflecting the strong bond between the team and the Nipawin community.
