Hawks Snap Road Drought with Overtime Win in Battlefords

Last night the Hawks opened the scoring when captain #11 Finley Radloff (3) buried one on the power play, assisted by assistant captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (9) and assistant captain #7 Eric Hoiness (7). Minutes later, #29 Tiernan Ryan (2) doubled the lead off a setup from #12 Jaxen Smyth.

In the second period, assistant captain #7 Eric Hoiness struck again with his second of the season, assisted by assistant captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (10) and #24 Justus Cutler (2). Then assistant captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (5) found the back of the net himself  with help from #34 Konnor Watson (4).

In the third, #17 Jack Drake scored the Hawks’ fifth goal, assisted by #34 Konnor Watson (5), before #39 Noah Derouin (2) tied the game with Nipawin’s sixth, assisted by #18 Jack Janzen (4) and #17 Jack Drake (2).

In overtime, #8 Clayton Nesbitt (2) sealed the deal, with a feed from assistant captain #7 Eric Hoiness (8) to secure the 7–6 victory.

The Hawks outshot the North Stars 42–26, showcasing relentless pressure and strong team play from start to finish. The win ended a four-game road drought and reminded everyone what Hawks hockey looks like at full throttle.

The North Stars goals came from Geysen in the first, Kirwan, Knittig, and Konowalchuk in the second, and two from Klippenstein in the third.

The boys now get a well-earned break before returning home to The Cage on November 14 for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against the Melfort Mustangs.
