The Nipawin Hawks have signed 2008-born defenseman Barret Berger to a Letter of Intent for the next Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season.
Nipawin selected the six-feet, one inch, 185 pound rearguard in the first round, sixth overall in the Drafted in the 2023 SJHL U15 Draft and have already seen him suit up in two games last season. Berger has a goal and 12 assists this year with the AAA Saskatoon Contacts. Last year he scored three times and added eight assists. His most prolific offensive season was his final year of AA U15 where Berger scored 13 times and added 22 assists in 22 games with the Saskatoon Bandits.
Berger was a sixth round selection of the Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League as well.
