The Hawks needed another third period comeback, but this time Nipawin also got the extra time win courtesy of their captain in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Yorkton Terriers Friday.
In Tuesday’s game against the North Stars, the Hawks needed two final period tallies to force overtime, they lost in a shootout. Friday down one going to the third period, Van Taylor tied the game 3-3 with his third career Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) goal and Finley Radloff scored his sixth of the season in period four giving Nipawin their first home ice win of the season.
Eric Hoiness opened the scoring with his second of the campaign, Ashton Tait also added his second of the year.
Nathan Claydon made 26 stops to collect his first SJHL win in net for the Hawks.

Nipawin is in Humboldt Saturday for their second, and last trip to the Elgar Petersen Arena this season. The Hawks blanked the Broncos 1-0 in their first meeting.
