The Nipawin Hawks are pleased to announce the re-signing of Head Coach and General Manager Tad Kozun to a two-year contract.
A product of Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Kozun has strong ties to the organization both on and off the ice. He suited up for the Hawks during the 2011–12, 2012–13, and 2013–14 seasons before advancing to the NCAA with the University of Alaska Anchorage. Following his collegiate career, Kozun went on to play professionally in the ECHL with the Carolina Stingrays, Kansas City Mavericks, and Orlando Solar Bears.
Kozun joined the Hawks coaching staff in the 2021–22 season as an assistant coach before stepping into the role of interim Head Coach and General Manager later that year. He has led the team in that capacity ever since, helping guide the program forward both on and off the ice.
The organization is proud to have re-signed a leader with deep connections to the community and the Hawks program for another two-year term as the team continues to build toward sustained success.
“I am excited to sign an extension and keep building off what we have started,” said Kozun. “I’m looking forward to the start of next season as we continue to grow as a group and keep taking steps forward.”
