Hawks Offence Sparks Early, Rally Falls Short at Home

Tonight at the Cage, the Nipawin Hawks welcomed the Weyburn Red Wings in a hard-fought matchup, but ultimately came up short with a 4–2 final in favour of the visitors.

Nipawin opened the scoring in the first period when #34 Konnor Watson (15) buried one, with help from #3 Hudson Gainer (3). In the second, the Hawks struck again as #18 Jack Janzen (5) found the back of the net, assisted by #24 Justus Cutler (3) and #2 Noah Heinrich (6).

The third period tilted Weyburn’s way, as the Red Wings recorded goals from Karman, Mohan, and Munro, before sealing the game with a late empty netter by Doyle.

Final shots on goal were 26 Hawks 36 Red Wings.

The Hawks now shift their focus to the road, heading to Kindersley for a weekend double-header. They return to the Cage on December 17 for a 7 PM matchup against the Ice Wolves.
