Hawks hindered by special teams in loss to Bombers

The Hawks were defeated 5-2 by Flin Flon Saturday at the Centennial Arena allowing the Bombers to sweep the weekend home and home series this weekend.

After a 5-1 Flin Flon win Friday at the Whitney Forum, the Bombers extended their winning streak over the Hawks to 15 games.

Van Taylor and Finley Radloff scored Nipawin’s goals, Taylor has two in his rookie campaign, Radloff now has five on the season.

Gage Roberts continues his excellent play in the Nipawin net making 51 stops in the loss.

Nipawin was 0/4 on the powerplay, including not capitalizing on a four minute powerplay or a two man advantage in the second period. Flin Flon scored twice on the powerplay.

The Hawks are back on the ice Tuesday, they host the Battlefords at 7 p.m., the game was originally scheduled for Nov. 19.
