Hawks grounded in Flin Flon

Nipawin gave up four goals in the first period Friday in Flon Flon on route to a 5-1 loss at the Whitney Forum.

The final two periods were sawed off, Carter Anderson scored his sixth goal of the season.

Nathan Claydon started in goal, he allowed four goals on 17 shots, many from prime scoring areas. Gage Roberts came in to relieve Claydon stopping 39 of 40 Flin Flon shots.

The Hawks also killed nine of 10 penalties including all six in the third period.

The teams meet again at the ‘Cage’ Saturday. Faceoff is 7 p.m.
