Hawks Fall to Flin Flon in High-Scoring Affair

The Nipawin Hawks welcomed the Flin Flon Bombers to the Cage on Tuesday night in a high-scoring contest that saw the visitors come away with the win.

Nipawin opened the scoring early in the first period when #4 Braeden Jockims scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by assistant captain #13 Carter Anderson  (11). The Hawks added to their lead shortly after when #21 Ashton Tait scored his seventh of the year, with assists going to #13 Carter Anderson (12) and #4 Braeden Jockims (9).

The Hawks continued to apply pressure as assistant captain #7 Eric Hoiness scored his 13th goal of the season, assisted by assistant captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (18) and #20 Raydr Wallington (14). Captain #11 Finley Radloff closed out the Hawks’ first-period scoring with his 11th of the season, assisted by #14 Mason Lowther (7) and #10 Will Whitter (19).

Flin Flon responded in the opening frame with four goals, coming from Lies (2), Brehaut, and Arberry, tying the game after one period.

The Bombers took control in the second period with two goals from Miller, giving the visitors the lead. Flin Flon added one more in the third period from Lies to complete the scoring.

Shots on goal were even at 32 apiece.

The Hawks will return to action at home when they welcome the Melfort Mustangs to the Cage for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
