Hawks Fall Short in Overtime Against Terriers

The Nipawin Hawks battled hard tonight against the Yorkton Terriers but came up just one goal short in a tight overtime finish.

Yorkton opened the scoring with a first-period goal from Zawatsky, but the Hawks answered back in the second. Assistant Captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (4) buried the equalizer, with assists coming from #10 Will Whitter (6). The teams traded chances through the third, with both goaltenders standing tall to force extra time.

In overtime, the Terriers’ Ries found the back of the net, sealing the 2–1 win for Yorkton. Despite the loss, the Hawks showed relentless effort and strong two-way play, proving once again that every point is earned in this league.
