The Hawks opened the 2024-25 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) preseason Tuesday with a 4-2 loss in Melfort.
Returning forward Jacob Michelson scored both Nipawin goals in the loss.
The goaltending was split between returnee Tyson Endall and newcomer Jaidyn Shaw, although the online scoring page states Endall allowed four goals on 44 shots, the pair split the game.
The Hawks host the Mustangs at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Centennial Arena.
