It wasn’t our night at the Whitney Forum as the Hawks wrapped up the second half of a home-and-home with the Bombers.
Assistant Captain #16 Mason Karakochuk (8, 9) supplied all the offence for Nipawin, striking once in the first—set up by A #7 Eric Hoiness (15)—and again in the second, assisted by #34 Konnor Watson (7) and #8 Clayton Nesbitt (2).
Despite the loss, Colton Scott and the group turned in a strong effort, battling through pressure and keeping the game within reach.
Flin Flon did their damage in the middle frame with three goals from Alexander (2) and Lesperance. The Bombers added two empty-netters in the third from Arberry and Ulmer to seal the result.
Shots finished 42–32 in favour of Flin Flon. With the setback, the Hawks now sit third overall in the SJHL standings.
Nipawin returns home on December 10, hosting the Weyburn Red Wings for a 7 p.m. puck drop at the Cage.
