The Nipawin Hawks came out strong against the Melfort Mustangs, taking an early lead in the first period with a goal from Carter Anderson, assisted by Clayton Nesbitt.
In the second, the Hawks kept pushing with a goal from Sean Shiels (assists to Derouin and De Zenith) and another by Colton Stabler (assits from Derouin and Nesbitt), holding the advantage heading into the third.
Despite a hard-fought effort, the Mustangs managed to edge out the Hawks 4-3 in a close finish. The Hawks are back at it tomorrow night for a rematch at The Cage! Puck drops at 7:00 PM.
