Final forty costly in loss to Humboldt

The Hawks played arguably their best period of 2025 Tuesday against Humboldt but the final forty minutes wasn’t as appealing in a 6-1 loss to the Broncos.

Humboldt opened the scoring on a powerplay in the first period, but after three unsuccessful powerplays of their own, the Hawks scored late tying the game 1-1. Jack Shierau scored his first career Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) to even the score before the first period expired.

The Broncos scored an early goal in the second period, added another goal on the man advantage shortly after before taking the victory.

Gage Roberts made 23 saves in goal for the Hawks.

Nipawin will travel to Yorkton Friday for a matchup with the Terriers. Faceoff is 7 p.m.
